Characters

As new characters enter (and leave) the game, this page will provide a quick, easy and alphabetical reference to who is who. This post will be updated after each game.

Adam August von Eschenmayer
A German Knight of the Court of King Ruprecht III. A lesser known associate and ally of Dieter Anschütz-Kaempfe von Beyrich. 

Albrecht Mansfeld. 
One of the three primary characters of the campaign. A 'Half-Brother' Knight of the Teutonic Order. One of the founding members of the Brotherhood of the Black Cross.

Dieter Anschütz-Kaempfe von Beyrich 
A German Knight of the Court of King Ruprecht III. A rich and powerful man, with a great many political connections and known to be ambitious. Lothar crossed swords with Dieter (in Game 4) but managed to conceal his identity, thus avoiding an open conflict with a potentially deadly adversay.

Draguni of Berzika
A Captain of Vironia of Curonia.

Erik Gyldenløve
A Danish mercenary and sometime employee of the leadership of the Teutonic Order.

Father Vitalius
A mysterious agent employed by the leadership of the Teutonic Order in Curonia.

Heinrich von Lüneberg
A 'Brother Knight' of the Teutonic Order. One of the founding members of the Brotherhood of the Black Cross.

Jörgen Billung
A 'Half-Brother Knight' of the Teutonic Order. One of the founding members of the Brotherhood of the Black Cross.


Lorentz Wolfenbüttel
A 'Half-Brother Knight' of the Teutonic Order. One of the founding members of the Brotherhood of the Black Cross.



Lothar von Schöenberg
One of the three primary characters of the campaign. A 'Brother Knight' of the Teutonic Order, Lothar is a seasoned soldier in his mid thirties. Having witnessed the ill treatment of Christian civilians by Teutonic forces during many campaigns against Poles and Lithuanians, he has become some what jaded with his fellow Brother Knights and disillusioned with the apparent aims of the Ordenstaat. Lothar is the driving foce behind the eventual creation of what will become the Brotherhood of the Black Cross.



Maximillian von Schöenberg
One of the three primary characters of the campaign. A 'Half-Brother' Knight of the Teutonic Order, Maximillian is an experienced horseman in his late twenties who has seen combat, but not as much as his older brother whom he regards with great respect. Not as pious as his brother, Maximillian is nonetheless a religious man who regards his calling as sacred and he is one of the founding members of the Brotherhood of the Black Cross.

Otto Bierhoff
Sergeant-at-Arms to Lothar von Shöenberg. A veteran soldier whose loyalty to Lothar is beyond question.

Pantazi Lupaş.
A gentleman of  Dâmboviţa. 

Radu Puşcaş
A Noble gentleman of Dâmboviţa.

Svarn of Šiaulē 
A Lithuanian from Northern Samogitia. The celebrated first son of the Baron of Šiaulē. Svarn is a large and vigorous man who has taken up the cause of Independence.

Ulrich von Kunitz 
A German Knight of the Court of King Ruprecht III. Ulrich met Lothar on the road in Samogitia (Game 2) and joined forces with him against the Lithuanian rebels.

Vaclav of Stentzin
A Lithuanian from Eastern Samogitia. The fifth son of a minor noble, Vaclav has taken to raiding German civilians.

Vironia of Curonia
A minor Lithuanian Lord.

Vladimir Rus
A Russian Knight of dubious reputation who had apparently taken to fighting the Lithuanian cause, Vladimir Rus bore a grudge against Lothar von Schöenberg who defeated him in combat at Karlshof, and then took his horse as spoils of war. After this defeat, the still wounded Vladimir joined forces with Svarn of Šiaulē but was killed whilst charging a Teutonic spear line during a confrontation with Lothar.
